Fremont Dining
This is a list of places I recommend for food or drinks in the Fremont neighborhood in Seattle. There's places I'm happy to go not on this list, but when I'm thinking of where to get food they're the first that come to mind.
Food
19 Gold - The Malatang bowls are a lot of food for the price, so go with a group so you can justify ordering some sides.
Fremont Bowl - A lot of poke places I've been to do "Chipotle-style" to cover up their average seafood with sauce and toppings. Fremont Bowl is confident enough in their ingredients that most of their bowls are only 2-3 items and still really good.
Local Tide - Secretly one of the best seafood places in Seattle, definitely go here instead of the touristy places in Pike Place. It's better to go on a warm day when their outdoor seating is available.
Made in House - A somewhat modern take on Korean food, the menu seems like standard fare but the quality of the ingredients and cooking is great. Also has a lot of pleasant (non-alcoholic) drink options for both cold and warm weather.
My Friend Derek's - Detroit-style pizza, you have to order in advance and he's usually open only 2-3 days a week w/ a limited number of orders but it's well worth the effort.
Coffee
Aroom - Really good "dessert coffee" with some unique drink choices.
Millstead - I'm not a coffeehead so I can't vouch for the quality of their beans, but I get the impression from coffeeheads that it's higher quality than most of the nearby options.
Drinks
My drink preferences skew towards sweeter options, be warned
Hannyatou - Sake and soju bar with some unique tapas choices.
Mr B's Meadery - Meadery with creative flavors and a nice range of sweet to dry choices. Also has the coolest bathroom of any place you've been to, probably.
Red Star Taco Bar - Go during happy hour and have their margarita slushies. Also has pretty good tacos (though having lived in the Bay Area, I'm somewhat biased against Mexican food in Seattle as a whole).
Stampede Cocktail Club - I have not actually been but multiple people who don't even live in Fremont have spoken highly of it.
